Explore the fascinating world of Canine Forensics through our comprehensive Diploma Canine Forensics (DCF) for the first time under the University Education System in the World. Canine Forensics is an emerging field to bridge the existing void in training and preparing Forensic K9s i.e. police dogs with forensic considerations to ensure their judicial admissibility in the court of law. The highly specialized course has been innovatively designed and conducted by internationally acclaimed, India's Veteran Military and Police Dog Trainer in collaboration with Police Dog Centre India, New Delhi. The course comprises of one semester of 06 months to support working professionals both from police and law enforcement organizations as well as professional dog trainers with first 4 months of online education and last 2 months of Hands-on-Training based on contemporary dog training techniques. It is developed as a 'bridge course' to provide higher education like Masters and PhD in the niche field of working dog training in collaboration with our education partners, the Global Justice and Forensic Centre, Florida International University, Miami, USA. There are two courses annually commencing in February and August every year. The 1st pioneering course commenced in August 2023 and successfully concluded in January 2024 comprised of Police Dog Trainers and Professional Dog Trainers. The course scheme includes the subjects of Fundamentals of Police Service K9s, Canine Forensic Odourology i.e. Science of Odour and Training & Deployment of Police K9s for diverse security objectives apart from Basics of Forensic Science and Crime Scene Investigations to ensure in-depth knowledge of forensic canines to overcome prevailing challenges in establishing odour as credible evidence with the help of Specialized Forensic K9s. The course provides an unparallel opportunity of completing a research project also on an aspect of Forensic K9s depending upon the strength and interest of the students introducing them to the wonderful world of research and development in this compact course.
